Some things helping us through......beautiful eye candy,
comfort candy,

Your prayers are definitely being felt.

Sunday

Monday

Jemma really wanted to "explore the 0lympic$"
so we went downtown to walk around.
Then she saw the cauldron......but was soooo sad when this was as close as we could get :(
One last look before we walked further...

Friday

Jemma brought her own "mascots" along to see the t0rch relay....

Patiently waiting for the delayed t0rch....
...getting closer......."there it is!!!!!"...

..."there it goes...

Thursday

We went to see the 0lympic T0rch with our friends."Look, I see it!!!"

...there it goes...
After it was out of sight I looked down and saw Jemma's shoulders trembling.
When I asked her what was the matter she looked up at me
with tear filled eyes "I want to run after it!"

Saturday

For Jemma's "golden birthday" (4 on the 4th) her parents decided to throw a huge party.
A wonderful idea, right? What makes it crazy is they decided to do it all themselves (causing great anxiety the night before).
By doing it all themselves they mean;
prepare all the food
set everything up
serve previously mentioned food
handmake "loot" bags
attempt clean-up.....which thankfully was a group effort!!!

A few tasks we decided (in sane mind as opposed to above)
were best left to more adept people.
We had a wonderful friend be our photographer for the day (thus a lack of photos to be seen now as our camera was put away for most of the partying time).
We bought the cupcake "cakes" (one vanilla with princesses the other a chocolate lion (Simba)).
We paid for entertainers!!!! 3 clowns who painted faces (or hands as the case may be), made balloon animals/flowers/snakes, performed magic, played games, etc.
We called some good friends at the last minute (insanity) begging for some help with set-up (thank-you).
We also made a sane decision in booking our church social hall to host this shin-dig at, which meant we had plenty of space to celebrate this wonderful day with all our friends, not to mention enough space for all the abovementioned festivities.

A GREAT day was had by ALL!!
We sure missed those of you who couldn't make it.

At bedtime we asked Jemma what she enjoyed most from her party.....
the cake!!!
.....oh, and the presents.

Golden Birthday Party

Patiently waiting for someone to open the door.
Still waiting....along with most of the stuff
we lugged along to pull off this fete.
Catching Jemma sneaking some icing from
one of her birthday cakes.
